An island that once was the site of several battles in the history of the Philippines and was instrumental in driving the United States to retreat from the naval base and made the country fall into the hands of the Japanese forces, Corregidor Island now serves as a tourist destination for many Filipinos, Americans, and Japanese.
This historic site is under the Jurisdiction of Cavite City. It is a tadpole-shaped rock island located at the entrance of Manila Bay. With just a few hours’ ferry ride from the port in Manila, it is frequented daily by many tourists and war veterans.
