Mindoro

One of the largest islands in the Philippines (7th), Mindoro, a part of the Luzon region, is located at the north-western portion of the country. It is situated south of Metro Manila and north of Palawan. The island is currently divided into two provinces, Oriental Mindoro and Occidental Mindoro. The province of Oriental Mindoro is currently the western seaboard part of the country’s Strong Republic Nautical Highway which interconnects Calapan, the northern part of the island, with Batangas, and Roxas, the southern part, with Caticlan, Aklan via Roll-On-Roll-Off (RORO) ports.

This port is about 3-4 hours RORO ride from Batangas port depending on the speed of the RORO boat you are riding.

Baranggay Masagana, is a couple of hours ride west of Calapan. The place is very remote and can be accessed only by 4x4s. The place is almost at the foothills of Mount Halcon. One of the most treacherous mountains to climb in the country.
